Villa on the French Mediterranean

The climate in the Languedoc region is basically Mediterranean and is one of the hottest places in France during the summer.

The region has its own version of the Provencal 'Mistral' in the shape of the 'Tramontane', which whistles through the Languedoc from the northwest. Windsurfers, especially, welcome its energy and others may appreciate it during periods of intense heat.

July and August are usually particularly hot, whereas June and September are generally fine and very warm.

Autumn remains relatively mild, making it a good time of the year to visit the vineyards and ruined Cathar castle strongholds.
